What is your teaching philosophy?
Having fun while learning is the best way to learn.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Create a process for learning the material, and then make a game out of it.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By creating a process that works best for the student and then testing this process on their own with minimal help from me to see how they have improved and that they can prepare themselves for tests.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would stay motivated myself, and by having the student accomplish small goals.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would break down the concept into small concepts and have the student explain each part of that to me so I can see where the breakdown is. I would also have the student explain each smaller concept through either drawing or figures.
