I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Belmont Abbey College in 2014. Recently, I received my Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Throughout this time, I was able to gain invaluable experience engaging students one on one and in a classroom setting. For two years, I worked as a lab instructor at UNC-Charlotte where I taught labs for genetics and general biology. I quickly found that teaching, and particularly working with students one on one, is a passion of mine. Whether the student is advanced in the subject or is heavily struggling with the basics, I greatly enjoy working individually with them to guide them towards improved academic performance. I fully believe that no two students are exactly alike and therefore my teaching approaches can not be exactly alike for every student. This philosophy of being flexible in my methods of engaging students enables me to get the most from every student. I am very passionate about teaching many areas of the biological sciences including cell biology, physiology, immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology. Outside of academics I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, and supporting my favorite sports teams.
