My educational philosophy in brief is to engage students in an educational, fun and disciplined learning environment that liberates students to gain knowledge and skills to be used throughout their lives. I believe in differentiating instruction to meet the students learning level, learning style and abilities.

First sessions are important to assess the student, what they need to learn, what their foundation is and what do they need to improve upon. It may include a diagnostic test. I do try to reassure my students and to comfort them during the initial session.

I always push students to increase their independence by directing them to attempt to answer problems themselves with my assistance in the background. Thus, students truly learn more effectively and are able to score better in their classes and on their exams.

The great advantage of being a very experienced teacher is that I know multiple ways to solve problems. Thus, I can use multiple approaches to help a student who is struggling to learn a skill or concept.

I approach this problem like other problems. I find other ways to teach them. I try to ascertain their problem, and then try to design a teaching approach that will enable their success.

Probably the most important strategy is a student-centered approach. I direct the student towards solving problems, while requiring the optimum amount of their effort so they can more effectively learn the subject and solve problems.

Helping a student get excited or engaged in a subject is not real difficult. Typically, when they are struggling in a subject they don’t understand it ,and they lack confidence. So I show them clearly and concisely about the subject so they feel more comfortable. Then I seek to build up their confidence through practice.

I certainly assess a student's knowledge at the beginning and conclusion of classes. I do that by doing quick previews and reviews of the materials.

Practice is a great way to build confidence in a student. As a tutor, I can often see more clearly the student’s advancement, so I make sure to communicate how they are improving so they can increase in confidence.

Typically, I evaluate students by questioning, observing, and testing them. Often it's as simple as asking them a question of what their needs are.

I adapt to the needs of my students by observing what they are, building a plan, and then implementing that plan.

Typically, I use a laptop, iPod, Wi-Fi, calculator, books, and any other necessary equipment to do the job sufficiently.
