Lee Anne: Essex County tutor
Certified Tutor
I have recently rediscovered my passion for education and the betterment of society through learning, after spending the better half of my career floating around the editorial world. After moving to America, from Montreal, Canada, it became apparent that the school system differed largely, and that not all schools were created equal. Self-proclaimed nerd, with flair, I'm the type of tutor who likes to dig a little deeper to understand the student. It is not enough to know that they're struggling in a certain subject - I want to know what it will take get them through it.
I have spent most of time as a student in Montreal, Canada, where I studied History and Journalism at French university Universit de Montral before jumping across the pond to London for a post-graduate degree in Fashion Journalism. I, therefore, tutor French and History, (or French History or is it History in French?)

What is your teaching philosophy?
Find common ground and build from there. No two students are alike.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Find the motivator, and tailor the lesson around that.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Stop. Breathe. Empathize. Ask questions > make the student as much a part of the teaching as you are.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Getting to know the student: what motivates them, their ambitions > from there, relate as much as you can to it.
