Tutoring is an opportunity for students to supplement their learning in a one-on-one atmosphere that provides the learner with personalized assistance to remediate and extend knowledge. As a former teacher and current student, I know that everyone learns differently, and therefore, I am here to provide tutoring sessions catered to an individual’s learning style. In addition, I believe that our knowledge is built on a foundation of critical thinking and problem solving regardless of the course at hand.
Over the past three years, I have taught middle school math and science, and additionally, these are my favorite subjects to tutor. I enjoy applying mathematics to business and science concepts, such as stock markets and physics. I believe that math is understood best through applicable examples.
Currently, I am a computer science master’s student at the University of Pittsburgh. I recently graduated from John’s Hopkins University with a master’s in secondary education, and prior to this, I earned my bachelor of science in industrial engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.
Beyond learning and tutoring, I enjoy being outdoors and doing activities, such as camping, biking, hiking, and kayaking. Also, I listen to a wide variety of music, and I go to concerts as frequently as possible.
