I graduated from Hood College with my B.A. in Psychology. I then went on and completed my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from The Johns Hopkins University School of Education. I am currently a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. I work for a non-profit organization for a program that provides services to children in Montgomery County public schools, and work in a middle school in Rockville providing individual and group therapy to the students and their families. My current role as a therapist in the school, often encompasses several different aspects, not just therapy sessions. I run groups, attend IEP meetings, and often help with academic clubs after school run by our program. I have always enjoyed working with children and adolescents of all ages. I also have experience working with children who are diagnosed with ADHD. My experience with tutoring ranges from helping out the neighborhood children, to working after school 1:1 with a group of students who need strict and extra support for their classes. I have always had a passion for reading and literature, and have enjoyed writing essays. My strengths include Psychology and Counseling, and English and writing. I believe my background in professional counseling will aide in my abilities to help tutor by providing a personal and individualized approach to helping your child learn and understand the material, while keeping the session enjoyable. I love my job and working with the students and families in the school, but also have a great deal of interests outside of my work. In my spare time I enjoy any form of exercise, and will find any excuse to get outside when the weather is nice! My interests range from going to see live music, to curling up with a movie or good book! I love all animals, and will often help out my mother with her dog training business, as well.
