Certified Tutor

I graduated from Elmhurst College in May of 2013 with majors in English, Spanish, and Philosophy.

While at Elmhurst, I was the Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper, and developed my tutoring style and ability by working with fledgling writers on improving their craft. I believe that the source of all good writing stems from clear, critical thought, and this is what I try to nurture in my students. Having received numerous accolades from the Illinois College Press Association, both as a writer and an editor, I have a proven track record of what works.

I have traveled extensively throughout my college career, specifically to several Spanish speaking countries, the most recent once being Cuba. I not only have mechanical skill with Spanish, I have a profound love for Spanish and Latin American culture. As a result I have an unyielding passion and excitement for the language.

In the Fall semester of my senior year, I studied abroad at Oxford University. In what as the most challenging experience of my college career, I learned the true value of tutorship. With each class being a one-on-one tutorial, I was amazed at what I could accomplish, and amazed at the potential that can be awakened with the right guide. This unique perspective inspired me to try awaken that potential within others.

In my spare time, I enjoy learning new things. Currently, I am teaching myself how to program computers. I am a voracious reader, of non-fiction and fiction alike. Nothing gives me greater pleasure then playing my acoustic guitar outside on a sunny day.
