Certified Tutor

I have had many opportunities throughout my life that I have been able to take advantage of and get the most out of. Whether it is the variety of academic knowledge I have been taught, sports I have been coached in, or musical instruments and skills I have been inspired to learn, all of these things involved a teacher, a coach, or a friend. Because of this, I plan to devote a large part of myself to giving back and acting as the kind of role model I have been lucky to have in different forms through my childhood and adulthood. Before I had even actualized this as my goal, for years I have known the joys of tutoring and working with a young child who looks to you for more than just the answers to his homework. Starting from when I was twelve, I have been a tutor to many kids of all ages and learning abilities from grades four to sophomore year of college. My goal is to not only teach, but to inspire in all aspects and areas of growth. For this reason, I have worked with special needs children at a summer camp, coached a youth water polo team and a girl's club volleyball team, and have helped to develop and teach a clinical bioengineering program for undergraduate engineers. I am a current 3rd year medical student and I intend to be on the development side of primary care. Later this year, I will begin a fellowship at the Center for Primary Care at Harvard Medical School.
