Tutoring review by Heather in Brentwood, NY
The student and I worked through her assigned homework, problem by problem. I also look through her book to future sections so that I will know what's coming up. I saw that she had SAT prep materials, and we talked about college admissions, her academic interests, and what I may be able to do to help her prepare for the SAT in addition to her math course.

Tutoring review by Susan in Brentwood, NY
The student and I continued to discuss quantum theory, the wave/particle/dual models of light, the photoelectric effect, and the relationships between energy, wavelength, frequency, and wave speed on the electromagnetic spectrum. We completed many practice problems finding wavelength from frequency or energy and vice versa. We also covered converting units, and identifying which regions of the EM spectrum are associated with particular frequencies/wavelengths/energy levels.

For Student 2, we discussed each element in the chapter, then I showed her how to draw charts and maps to remember things.

Tutoring review by Michael in Brentwood, NY
The student is still having some trouble when switching between positive and negative signs when solving for an unknown variable. I wrote down notes containing aspects he should focus on when approaching the homework problems.  He is learning Mandarin at a pretty quick speed. I am also trying to teach him the more commonly used words and phrases.

Tutoring review by Kathleen in Brentwood, NY
The student and I met today at her home to begin preparing her to take the exam in early September. Mostly, we discussed test-taking strategies as outlined by one of my old test prep books. We started out going over strategies for success in the verbal section and moved into math toward the end of our session. She plans to have her own test preparatory book by our next meeting.
