I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Emily

Certified Tutor

I am a third year medical student studying out of Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in North Carolina. While I graduated a proud Tar Heel from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science, I also spent time studying biology at the College of Charleston. Here, I tutored a freshman biology course. As a student, I personally do best with some extra help as the limited time of scheduled lecture isn't always enough for me to process a topic; for this reason, I hope to give back in the form of extra help to students like myself! I fully believe that we are fortunate enough to constantly learn throughout our lives and I hope to be a guide through whatever may be stumping students on their current trajectory so that their journeys may continue to sail smoothly. When I'm not studying, I can be found with my nose in a (non-academic) book, enjoying the outdoors, or with friends and family.

Hobbies

In my free time, I love to read and get outdoors. As far as my current reading interests, I am reading the Harry Potter series for the first time and am so sad I missed reading these books as a young adult. In regards to getting outdoors, I love to hike, run, or even just sit outdoors in the fresh air. Any chance that I have, I am making my way into a cool, shady spot, and most of those times, my Kindle is in my hands.
