We continued to review practice problems in his AP Calculus BC book. We specifically covered topics such as anti-differentiation. The student continues to work hard and cover many problems. We are still working on specific issues as they arise. He has the basics covered and we will continue to practice to ensure that he has all the specifics memorized and understood. The student will continue to work through the remaining chapters in his book.

We had a better time with the regression problems than last night. We went through several multiple-choice questions and re-worked some of the problems from last night. It was a productive meeting.

Today, the student and I reviewed her homework in the foundations of algebra. The homework required her to translate an algebraic expression into a sentence and then go from a sentence to an algebraic expression. With just a bit of help, she mastered the concept easily. Next up will be solving algebraic equations and solving inequalities. For that reason, after finishing up her homework we started reviewing solving equations.
I think the student might be enjoying algebra a little bit because she is understanding it and the answers are starting to come easier to her. I will continue urging her on and allowing her to tackle challenges so her confidence continues to swell.

Today we went over problems done from probability and complex numbers. We then turned our attention to matrices and ended with practice problems on a range of subjects. The student is challenged with identifying which formulas/tools to use for probability questions. We worked through some basic questions on probability and she was able to identify quickly which tools to use. For next time she will work on rational functions and parametric functions. We will do more practice on probability and work on those sections as well as matrices. For now, we are working on individual topics, and when we're closer to the exam we will work on practice tests as a whole. There are some time management skills to be practiced. She is already quite skilled at elimination techniques. I think continuing to practice is the best step to improving her score. On her practice test she scored 610, and her goal for the final test is to be above 700.

In this session, the student had a worksheet he desperately needed help with. It consisted of solving algebraic equations and finding values given a word problem.
