I want to show my students the joy of learning, as cliche as that might sound. I guess this stems from my own love of learning, but tutoring lets me share this love in a one-on-one, individual scenario. Seeing as my desired career is to be a college professor, tutoring allows me to get an early edge on my teaching skills as well.

I can tutor through 8th grade math including pre-algebra, algebra 1-4, as well as statistics, pre-calculus, and ACT/SAT mathematics prep. My teaching philosophy is that practice makes perfect. I recently graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Journalism with a minor in Phronesis. I've tutored children from K-12 when I was in High School. I strongly believe that the most important part of teaching any subject is making sure that the child has a strong understanding of the fundamental ideas presented in the subject, without a strong foundation the house is faulty.

I enjoy finding various ways to explain even just one concept and coming up with multiple examples to help really grasp the concept at hand.
