I am an educator, writer, and program builder who believes deeply in the power of steady instruction, strong relationships, and foundational skills to change lives. My path into teaching was shaped by lived experience: I entered adulthood as a student who had struggled with reading and academics, then went on to become a 4.0 graduate and award-winning teacher by learning how transformative the right instruction and persistence can be. Over the past three decades, I have taught in some of the most challenging environmentsrural, under-resourced communities, high-need classrooms, and unfamiliar cultural settingsoften by choice. I have built literacy programs from the ground up, worked one-to-one with struggling learners, and helped students gain not only skills, but confidence and momentum. I am known for a calm, grounded presence, clear communication, and a belief that consistency and care matter just as much as curriculum. Beyond the classroom, my work has included youth program development, outdoor and experiential education, nonprofit collaboration, and extensive writing and communication. Whether teaching reading, mentoring young people, or leading programs, my focus has always been the same: meet people where they are, hold high expectations, and never give up on them. I am motivated by mission-driven work that values integrity, equity, and real impact. I bring experience, reliability, and empathy to everything I doand I believe meaningful change happens through patience, trust, and showing up every day ready to do the work.

Ancora Imparo. The recent years have illustrated just how important this attitude is. Of accepting that no person, even given our extended lifetimes, can ever master every discipline. That there is wisdom in seeking to improve, but folly in expecting domination of any field of knowledge. The very best and wisest of us have survived the past two years not only due to cunning or intelligence, but adaptability and flexibility. And although I have been involved with teaching since 2013 and tutoring since 2001, it was not until 2018 that I began to experiment with online teaching of one-on-one clients via Skype, experiments that helped me to be ready and adaptable when my entire industry needed to entertain the shift in February of 2020. Ancora Imparo. Still, I am learning. Life will teach you new things, if you first agree that new perspectives are possible. A mind functions best when it's open to new ideas.
I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Maryland in May 2023. I would like to use my degree in a field that involves education, children, and studying child cognition. I have over 3 years of tutoring experience, and math has always been a passion of mine. Thus, I prefer to tutor children in math, but I am qualified to tutor in subjects such as Spanish, science, and English. I find it very rewarding to help students learn and overcome struggles they have in school. Their smiles alone make the work worthwhile to me. My past experience tutoring students includes working with children between the ages of 6 and 16. While tutoring, I try my best to keep the student engaged by including physical and virtual math games, physical learning tools, and other learning instruments designed to make learning more engaging for students. My tutoring style is pretty hands-on, but I also try to sit back and allow the student to think more deeply about the content and absorb the knowledge on their own. Outside of academia, I love to draw, especially with graphite, but I do occasionally use charcoal, colored pencils, and pens. I also love to exercise at the gym, but I especially enjoy hot yoga and pilates classes. I was also a gymnast all throughout my childhood and adolescence, and I was a gymnastics instructor at my hometown gym in college.
Through my experience I want to support students across a wide range of subjects for students K-8. I am a passionate about providing students with a supportive and patient learning environment, creating a comfortable space to make mistakes and ask questions. I think that learning can be powerful when students are guided to discover answers for themselves and feel comfortable making mistakes. What motivates me most is helping every child feel confident and supported in their path.

I am dedicated to tailoring my methods to meet individual needs, ensuring that learning is both engaging and effective. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading and exploring new ideas, which continually enriches my teaching practice.
I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.
I am a graduate of MIT. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with minors in Management Science and Ancient and Medieval Studies. Since graduation, I have started my PhD at Georgia Tech in Operations Research. Throughout my career I have TA'd several math and computer science courses at the college level. I have also taught at summer programs for gifted middle school and high school students. I am passionate about tutoring kids in math and science because I think that a strong foundation in STEM at an early age can set the tone for their future. In my spare time I like to engage in athletics, and was a Division 1 rower in college.

I am taking time to explore my lifelong interest in teaching. I began tutoring at the University of Notre Dame, where I worked for three years as a teaching assistant in a Cell Biology laboratory course. There, I enjoyed helping my peers understand the larger picture developing through our weekly experiments. At Loyola University Chicago, I continued to tutor a variety of subjects while earning a Master of Arts in Medical Sciences.
I'm Ellie, and I am a junior at Yale University studying Biomedical Engineering (pre-med)! I have always considered myself a life-long student, and I strive to make learning exciting and empowering for everyone. I am a dedicated, highly motivated individual with a passion for enhancing the learning experiences of others. I have taught as a classroom teacher and as a volunteer at state and national parks for the past few years. I focus particularly on highlighting connections between various subject matter to individuals' everyday lives. After I graduated with my Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2014, I moved to New Mexico to pursue a career in environmental conservation. I aspire to become a ranger with the National Park Service and a freelance writer.

I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in violin performance at the Juilliard School. I have tutored privately and through Chegg Tutoring, Varsity Tutors, PrepExpert, and iLearn World throughout high school and college, with most of my experience being in standardized test prep and English. The most fulfilling moments that I have with my students are when I see them applying previous lessons and skills to new challenges. I believe that a good teacher not only helps a student tackle specific, formulaic kinds of questions, but also imparts the skills necessary for adapting to the diverse intellectual challenges that life presents. My goal is always for my students to leave their sessions having learned something that will be useful for years to come, not just on the next test that they are preparing for. After all, education is a lifelong process!
I am a current (though almost graduated) student in Chemical Engineering at Georgia Tech. I absolutely love teaching and tutoring, and I have 3 years experience tutoring and just over a year's experience in being a teacher's assistant. I am passionate about math and science, and I love helping people understand new material. Learning is something I have always loved, and I want to share that passion with others.
I am comfortable tutoring in a variety of subjects, particularly at the elementary and middle school level. I am most excited about US history, English, writing, and public speaking. I am deeply passionate about educational equity, and firmly believe that every child has a right to an excellent education. As a tutor and teacher, I work to ensure that my students demonstrate growth in a subject area, in general academic skills, and in character.
I am a rising third-year student at Trinity College Dublin, and I am working towards a degree in English Literature. I have a lot of practical test-taking and study skills to offer, particularly in high school and middle school academics and standardized testing! I also consider myself a well-rounded student, so though my passion lies in English and writing, I love to teach math, science, and history subjects as well!
I am currently a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying cognitive neuroscience and philosophy. I have always loved learning and sharing my love for learning with others. For this reason, I have tutored throughout my time in high school and college. By working with students ranging in age from 5 to 20 years old, I realize that everyone learns in different ways. I am passionate about teaching in a way that works for each individual student. While I have experience tutoring in many subjects, I specialize in essay writing, particularly with personal statements and supplemental essays for college applications. I also specialize in resume writing. Still, I enjoy tutoring subjects like math, ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus 1, psychology, and English. For fun I enjoy reading, running, and listening to podcasts.
I am a PhD student at the University of Michigan, studying social psychology. Before this, I was at Duke University completing a BS in psychology as well as a MS in global health. My research combines the fields of global health and psychology by examining the effects of culture on self-related psychological processes. I hope to continue in academia to become a professor of psychology, as teaching is among my greatest passions.
I'm extremely motivated to help you succeed

I'm a junior at Yale University pursuing a double major in Linguistics and Theater. I have experience tutoring in a variety of subjects, but I'm particularly excited to help students with writing, critical reading, and SAT or ACT preparation. I had a strong support network of teachers and mentors throughout middle and high school, so I understand firsthand the importance of thoughtful, individualized educational enrichment. I seek to meet each student where they are in order to help them reach their greatest potential! When I'm not tutoring, you might find me performing improv comedy, playing saxophone, or trying to write the next great American musical.

I am a graduate of Brown University, where I earned my B.A. in Literary Arts and Visual Arts, taking courses in a wide array of subjects ranging from contemporary American fiction to ancient Indian classics. My first teaching experience came in college when I had the privilege of creating and teaching a series of literature courses at a local community center. There are few experiences I find more enriching than facilitating a meaningful dialogue centered around great works of literature and art. While literature and art are my passion, I also tutor in variety of other subjects, including math, science, and test preparation. I currently work as a lead teacher in the after-school program at Archway Classical Academy in Phoenix.
I'm comfortable tutoring on a number of subjects, I particularly enjoy teaching English, writing, and critical reading. I like working one on one with students, helping them to think through problems, formulate opinions, and articulate their thoughts. This involves working on vocabulary, grammar, and writing mechanics. These are invaluable skills, essential for writing essays and preparing for Standardized Tests, like the SAT.
I am good at test taking, is my ability to organize information. It's a skill I use both in my academic life, as well as professionally; as a stage manager, it is often my job to take in complicated and conflicting pieces of information (the blocking, a quick change in costumes, changes in a script) and quickly organize that information so that I can convey it to someone else. I enjoy and excel at condensing and re-communicating facts or tasks, so that they become comprehensible to someone who may not understand them the first time around.
I'm working towards my PhD in Marine Science at Stony Brook University (NY), doing research in the field of marine biogeochemistry. That's a bit of a mouthful, but basically it means I study the way living things interact with the chemistry of the ocean, and how that interaction gets recorded in mud and rock. Based on this expertise, I enjoy tutoring in general science, chemistry, and earth science.
I am an avid rower and bicyclist. I also greatly enjoy growing vegetables and playing basketball.
I am patient and collaborative. I work with my students to help them come to the answers on their own, and I find creative and fun ways for students to think about the material in a new light.
I am a junior at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania studying Economics, Finance, and Business Analytics. For the last few years, I have been helping students with college application and test prep help, such as college essays, common app, and SAT/Subject SATs. I came from a high school where these resources for college and SAT prep were not as readily available, so I want to work towards making college more accessible by helping students with their application. Past students of mine have gotten into NYU, UMich, and Georgetown.
I'm drawn to those topics myself, they are the things I am most passionate about, and therefore the things I love to teach and the subjects in which I love to share what knowledge I have. I believe enthusiasm goes a long way, and that some of my best teachers have been the ones who loved their subjects the most.
I am experienced in tutoring math, science, English, and the environmental sciences, but my favorite subjects to tutor are beginner's Chinese, reading and writing skills, and essay writing and revision. Over the years, I've seen that every student has an individual, personalized learning style, and I strongly believe it is important for tutors to match their teaching styles to the student. The qualities I'll bring into every session with my students are patience, commitment, and persistence, with an eye for a comprehensive mastery of all aspects to the material.
I am comfortable tutoring a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about writing and language, and I truly believe that strong writing skills are an asset in every area of life. Through my experience as an after-school program manager, I learned to build relationships and work well with students, parents, and teachers to meet student goals. In response to the pandemic, I quickly learned ways to adapt my educational youth work to a virtual setting. My social work background helps me connect with students on a personal and social-emotional level, which lays a trusting foundation for real growth and learning.
I am a native of western Pennsylvania. This is where I grew up, attended high school, and began my college career. I completed my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. I left Pittsburgh to attend the University of Chicago, from which I graduated in 2013. I stayed in Chicago to teach at the college level for 2.5 years, before returning to the Pittsburgh area. Underlying my academic experience is my passion for education. I am a first-generation college graduate (or as I like to call it, an "academic immigrant"). This means that I've learned on my own, and often the hard way, about the ins and outs of higher education, so I can understand how challenging - and truly rewarding - it can be. A solid education is as important today as ever, and it really can change your world for the better. I look forward to hearing from you and helping with your studies!
I am now a medical student at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
I am happy to accommodate and work with learners on the spectrum.
