As a high school teacher in Daytona Beach, FL, I have led classes from various subjects, including physics, engineering, and music. This has given me insight into a wide range of learning types and the approaches that work best for the individual student. Outside the classroom, I have tutored many that either needed help in a particular class or wanted a deeper understanding of their science and technology coursework. Working for the past three years as a full time teacher, I have been able to pass on my love for the principles of engineering and problem-solving in a private school environment. I have taught high school math, from PreAlgebra up to and including AP Calculus, as well as science, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I love the educational environment and interacting with the students. There is nothing I like more than showing students that math and science aren't the "boogie man" they believe they are and encouraging them to pursue STEM careers. In my personal life, I have been happily married for over 30 years and have two grown and successful children. I love sports, particularly tennis, football and volleyball. I also jog everyday and live reading and watching mysteries, gardening and cooking.

I left teaching full time and now work for the US Government working on accounting and Finance Systems. I am an expert skier and teach skiing during the winter months. I missed teaching so I currently tutor students in all levels of Math and love it! The joy of helping individual students understand a concept and succeed, where they thought they couldn't, is what keeps me tutoring! However my favorite subjects to tutor involve chemistry, due to the various real world examples that make the subject more comprehensive and ultimately enjoyable for students.
