I am comfortable being as hands-on as you would like and need, but my goal is to help others build academic confidence and independence in their own abilities so that they will be better served in the entirety of their academic careers, not just with the subject in which I am tutoring. I work hard with each student to help not only myself but help them assess their strengths and weaknesses for each subject. My approach is not "one size fits all."
