A bit on my background: I am a Duke University graduate and recently completed my Masters in Advanced Math Education under the auspices of the NYC Teaching Fellows program. Ihave experience teaching various levels of math and understand how to convey concepts in practical and clear ways so students gain a real understanding of the material. My particular specialty is Math. My style of teaching--and my passion for the subject-- resulted in high test scores and the gratification of a lot of students.A passion for math is a contagious thing. My students learn not because they have to learn, but because they want to learn -- a huge difference.

Hello, I am a Computer Science major aspiring to earn my Bachelors Degree in the next one to two years. I have earned an Associates Degree at Florida International University majoring in Computer Science, in Miami. I will soon be transferring to University of Central Florida where I will complete my studies. Currently, I work as a Professor's and Math Lab, Mathematics Learning Assistant. In the past, I worked as a Geek Squad agent at Best Buy and enjoyed my experience with technology very much. Also, I spent a year working as a Robotics/Coding teacher for an Elementary school where I learned many valuable skills and gained a rewarding experience. However, I found myself being more productive as a Mathematics Learning Assistant in my university. My goal is to work my way into the coding world through my love for technology and knowledge. I have completed courses Programming 1, Programming 2, Calculus 1 and 2; with much ease and enjoyment. More recently, I've completed Discrete Structures and am currently studying Data Structures. I would be honored as a first generation college student to receive an opportunity further my experience by working with you.

I am currently attending Oberlin College of Arts and Science. My majors are Mathematics, Chemistry and Biochemistry and I plan on attending medical school right after graduating. I am a student athlete: part of the Swim and Dive team and the Track and Field team.It is my passion to help young kids exceed in the academic world through: help understand difficult concepts, create better studying skills, organize the work/thoughts when doing a specific problem and seeing how a student works and tell the parents what they can do to make sure their child succeeds.

I am a graduate of New Mexico State University. I received my PhD Degree with a focus on Engineering and Math. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, tutoring students of different ages and different academic levels looking to improve their Engineering and Math knowledge.. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Engineering, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Linear Algebra and Algebra. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for the Critical math and science portions of the exams. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, yoga, running, and tennis.

As a special education teacher in middle schools for the past 4 years, I love helping students overcome struggles and improve in their learning. My favorite subjects to tutor are Math and Writing. My college degree is in Psychology from the University of North Texas, and since then I have also received my teaching certification.

I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Sciences and Technology. In my spare time, I like to swim, watch movies and go to baseball games. While I was completing my undergraduate degree, I did a 100 hour internship. This internship allowed me to work with children, assisting speech therapy sessions, in the school setting. This was a great experience and really made me realize how much I love working with people, especially children. I was also lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with special education children as well. I love working with special education children and understand their needs and desires to succeed in school. Working with people is my desire and helping them succeed is my passion. It is important that tutoring is specific to the child's needs so that it has a positive impact on their school work. I believe that education is achievable for everyone and that it is truly an accomplishment when the child reaches those educational goals.

I graduated from Drew University in May 2013 earning a Bachelor of Arts with a major in physics and minor in mathematics. I was a member of both the physics honors society, Sigma Pi Sigma, and the mathematics honors society, Pi Mu Epsilon. My accomplishments include being the inaugural recipient of the Robert L. Fenstermacher Summer Research Fellowship-2012, earning the Novartis Science Award in Physics-2012, and was awarded the Arnold S. Boxer Memorial Prize in Physics-2013. My research fellowship focused on utilizing Raman spectroscopy as a tool for determining pollutants in water samples. During college, I taught two weekly review sessions for the introductory physics classes. The first session was for the calculus-based introductory mechanics and electromagnetism courses while the second was for a conceptual physics course aimed towards non-science students. These sessions were a highlight of my college career and taught me a variety of teaching strategies. I learned to relate physics principles to the students everyday lives while still communicating the elegant mathematics behind the physical world. Mathematics and physics are difficult subjects but I believe anyone can understand them with a little work. There is no more satisfying feeling than comprehending a new equation or principle for the first time. In my free time I enjoy fishing, reading, weightlifting, and spending time on the beach. I am an aspiring Medical Physicist and will be attending a PhD program in Fall 2016.
