Hello,Having gone through some tough schools and classes (and even ones where I didn't have the attention and interest that may have helped), I know that that reality is that you will not understand every subject quickly.Did Einstein understand relativity in an hour, or did he have to work years to get it?I was an assistant to a Nobel Prize winner when younger. You know I did not get everything right away. But he was a great teacher and empathetic person and it worked! So I know that anyone can learn almost anything even if they think the subject is hard, or the others are "too smart".Our school system is not always perfect about motivating learners on all subjects. Nor does it deal with pressures and expectations from other classmates, people and what society expects of you. SO WHAT! I truly love to see the smile when someone says, "I get it".As a public school JHS and HS teacher, my license is in Biology 7-12 and have taught other sciences. I also have advance degrees in other areas and have taught it on a college level.I have a BA in Economics from Queens College (but had more courses in science), an MA in Economics from Northwestern University, and MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago, and an MA in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.I do not have a "favorite" subject to tutor. A lot of learning is seeing the value in the subject, and the beauty of utterly understanding it.My teaching philosophy(s) are many but boil down to a few things: 1 What does the student need to understand? 2 What does the student understand at this time? 3 How does the student learn (visually, via reading, examples, etc.) and 4 Teaching to reach the student's goal for what they need to learn. And 5 make sure the student understands before proceeding. (Another way of saying - to not waste time and finding the source of the misunderstanding.I look forward to doing learning with you that you feel good about and results in you "getting" what you want to know.Thank you for reading this.

I have my interests fixated on changing the world and tutoring is merely a vehicle on the plight of doing so. I attended Cinco Ranch High School, Seton Hall Unversity, but I am a graduate of the fighting Texas Aggies. I have been tutoring peers as early as middle school and have even taught English abroad. I empathize with a diverse demographic, having lived abroad in countries such as China, Korea, Spain, and Poland.I am an extremely motivated individual with a wide utility of skills and capabilities. While I particularly excel in the language component and enjoy traveling and culture, I also love math, reading, writing, and most of all, thinking. Normally, I utilize unconventional teaching methods for my students, as I have encountered that flash card memorization inhibits a true learning experience.During the summer, I usually voluntarily coach USA track and field for the youth, which also exemplifies my ability to lead and mentor. I love to teach the youth because sharing wisdom is the purest form of nostalgia in my opinion. It also supplies self gratification and brings me closer to the change that I desire to see reflected, not only in my students, but in myself as well.My favorite hobby is virtually anything that involves music and dressing well.Specialties:spanish, marketing, international relations, legal trademarks and patents, legal brief and document preparation, mathematics, reading, customer service orientation, document editing, event planning and execution, branding and identity, negotiation and mediation.

I graduated from Rochester Adams High School, one of the best schools in Michigan. I am currently attending Brigham Young University for my undergraduate in Special Education. I loved tutoring during high school because it made me feel like I was making a difference in a student's ability to succeed in their schooling. I am passionate about helping students actually learn and understand the content of a class rather than just memorizing things for a test, just to forget it afterwards. I know from experience that putting in the effort to truly understand something is so much more helpful in the long run because it allows you to build on that knowledge and not get even further behind when new concepts arise. My favorite subjects to tutor are algebra, pre-calculus, and Spanish. Outside of my school life, I love to spend time with my immediate and extended family by doing things like playing sports/outdoor games, singing karaoke and jamming out to music, and camping/backpacking.

I have my Bachelors in Applied Mathematics from Oregon Institute of Technology and Masters in Statistics from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have worked after grad school for 6 years, in some different industries and companies. I have experience as a teaching assistant, where I taught Statistics to graduate level students in different majors. That is where I learned to try and relate the material to the students own distinct disciplines. When I am not working or tutoring, I usually am watching sports on TV or golfing. I also enjoy to work out and cook in spare time.
