I am a pre-med student at the City College of New York, graduated in June 2017 with a dual-Bachelor's degree for Biology and Psychology. I am applying to medical schools, with the intention of taking the first steps in achieving my goal--to become a doctor and serve underrepresented and poor populations.
Aside from being goal oriented, my great communication skills helped me be an approachable Vice President and Director of Outreach for two years for the CCNY Biology Club. During these two years, I was a founding member of the Division of Science Student Council and also, with the help of my team, brought Relay for Life, a cancer fundraiser event, to CCNY for the first time in many years. I have also been a workshop leader for college-level students of general chemistry. Despite the hardships I faced moving from India to Singapore and to multiple states in the US, I have learned to be adaptable and have also gained the experience of knowing many different cultures. This has enabled me to be much more comprehensive of others’ adversities.
