I believe that learning occurs best when topics can be connected to student's own innate interests or hobbies. Everyone has the ability to learn and comprehend a subject only if given the right tools and the best environment. What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that when you can connect challenging subjects to topics and hobbies students are interested in, one can make a difficult problem a fascinating one.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Get to know the client's issues with the subject, study strategy, and interests.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Setting goals for the student, and focusing more on understanding and mastering the subject or topic.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would do my best to connect the concept to something the student already has an interest in, whether that is sports or art.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Changing up the study process or adding in materials to make sure the student can master the concepts.
