I am most passionate about tutoring is mechanics since this is usually a student's first exposure to synthesizing physical theories with mathematical concepts. Overall, I take a conversational approach to tutoring where I try my best to relate the material to the student's life experiences while drawing more conventional analogies that are proven to make the concept click.

I am an English teacher in Round Rock, Texas for students from grades 6-AP. My passion for teaching is rooted in my interest in my students and my desire to invest in them. In May 2017, I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Biola University as well as a California Single Subject English Credential and Texas English Credential. These programs and my work in the classroom have been meaningful experiences for me to develop my skills as an educator. I completed my BA at Yale-NUS College, a small liberal arts school established as a collaboration between Yale University and the National University of Singapore. I majored in Philosophy and spent a term as a visiting student at the University of Oxford. Most recently, I earned an MA followed by a Research MA in Philosophy. I am currently in the process of applying to PhD programs. Philosophy (western and non-western) and literature are my favorite subjects to tutor, as I love to engage with texts. I'm also enthusiastic about helping students with all forms of writing, including college application essays, and with standardized test preparation. I tutor the ACT and the LSAT, and especially enjoy the sections that involve reading comprehension. I love to help students develop skills in conceptual and textual analysis and become confident readers and writers. In addition to academic tutoring, I also love to teach yoga and am looking for more opportunities to do so. I completed my 200-hr yoga teacher training in India in 2018. My tutoring style is relaxed and warm. I am easy going and bring my light-hearted personality to my sessions. At the same time, I encourage students to realize their potential. I'm adaptable and easily adjust my approach to suit the particular needs, preferences, and qualities of each student. I'm always happy to receive feedback and make changes as necessary. Many incredible teachers, from family members to academic mentors, have instilled in me a love for learning and critical thinking. I hope to pass this on to the students I tutor.

I am currently a graduate level student that will begin work towards my Human Health and Environmental Systems MPH at Oregon Health and Science University in the fall. I held my first tutoring job in high school, where I spent after school and summers working with local elementary school students on reading, writing, and math skills. I loved the rare chance to see the look on a child's face when a tricky concept they had been struggling with suddenly made sense.

My name is Sameer Sahai, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Washington. With over 3 years of tutoring experience, I specialize in subjects such as SAT, Algebra 2, AP Calculus AB, AP Computer Science A, and AP Physics C: Mechanics. My teaching philosophy centers on recognizing that each student learns differently; I tailor my lesson plans to meet individual needs, ensuring that concepts are both accessible and engaging. I am passionate about helping students build their confidence in math and science, as I believe that understanding these subjects opens doors to future opportunities. In addition to my tutoring experience, I have volunteered at a Hindi school, where I developed my skills in adapting to diverse learning styles. Outside of academics, I enjoy programming and leading coding clubs, which further fuels my enthusiasm for teaching.
