I am currently employed in Nursing Education and Professional Development at a large teaching hospital in Ohio, and I am also an experienced Adjunct Faculty professor, with 10 years of clinical teaching experience in the LPN, Associate Degree and Bachelor's level Nursing programs. I am also published in the Journal of Radiology Nursing and have served on their Editorial Board.I have more than 20 years experience as a clinical nurse in major medical centers across the United States.I enjoy working with students and seeing them succeed.I have high standards for professionalism and I'm currently a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management. I also was a Certified Radiology Nurse, and I passed the Board Exam and both certification exams on the first attempts.I'm looking forward to helping Nursing students succeed in writing, school, certifications and licensing examination.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in History and Social Studies Education. I taught public school Social Studies in South Carolina from 2008 until 2020. My classroom experience gave me a firm foundation in data analysis and targeted instruction based on the learner's unique needs. My strength is simplifying complex information to make it understandable and relatable. My goal is to provide my clients with a versatile toolkit of materials and strategies they can use to build confidence and competence across their careers as well as their lives. My teaching is systematic, intentional, and meticulously planned and prepared for every session, but tempered with caring and humanity.
I received my Master of Arts in Education from Ursuline College and my Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education from Cleveland State University. After teaching English and reading at the high school level, I was given the opportunity to teach college composition and developmental courses in writing and reading at Lorain County Community College. Although I stopped classroom teaching four years ago, I continued to tutor writing in person and online at the college. Prior to my college teaching, I became a franchisee for Sylvan Learning Centers where I worked with students of all levels in gaining confidence and academic success at my two centers in Ohio. I enjoy interacting with students to improve their writing skills both in academic and business applications. I balance my tutoring sessions with encouragement and questioning to ensure individuals can apply critical thinking, research techniques, and assignment requirements while growing to be accomplished independent learners. I also try to keep learning fun and challenging.

I have always had an affinity for the Language Arts. I learned to read at a young age, and frequently had a book in my hands. This led me to major in English in college and to obtain a teaching certificate for the purpose of working with young people. My desire was to help them obtain the same love and desire for literature that I have. Reading is one of my favorite things to do, and by extension, writing. I have been published several times during my lifetime, and I continue to pursue it.
As a passionate educator with a Doctorate in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University and a BSN from Ursuline College, I have 15 years of combined clinical, research, and nurse education experience. From 2021 to 2024, I taught undergraduate nursing students (both in the classroom and one-on-one). I have expertise in Nursing Fundamentals (including Pathophysiology, Anatomy & Physiology, and core nursing concepts) and Evidence-based Nursing Practice (including literature reviews and basic research concepts). I have also tutored students in medical terminology, test and study strategies, and the math concepts that are essential for success in nursing math.
