I have been an RN for almost 7 years now and have worked in various roles in the nephrology specialty. In addition to my RN, I also have a bachelor's in biology and MBA. I currently work as a nurse educator. I find it very rewarding to teach and help students understand complex subject matter as well as provide guidance on how to study in a way that will be effective for them. As I teach both nurses and hemodialysis technicians coming from a wide range of educational backgrounds, I am able to adapt techniques and teaching styles to suit the individual. I look forward to helping you boost your confidence and knowledge base to meet your goals.

I have a Master's Degree in Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Teaching English as a Second Language. I am a licensed and certified teacher for grades kindergarten through 8th. I have been a teacher for the past 11 years and have tutored students for 5 years in the areas of reading and math. It is a joy to help students gain the knowledge and self-confidence to succeed academically as well as in all areas of their lives! I am currently enrolled and taking university courses to earn a Master's Certificate as an Educational Diagnostician.
I am a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience. I studied at the University of New Mexico and have earned my Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Socio-cultural Studies. I tutor all subject areas for elementary students. I also have years of experience helping all learners with acquiring English skills. I support listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I am bilingual in Spanish and can promote Spanish learning as well. I have a passion for helping people meet their personal and professional goals!
I am caring, friendly, and professional and have expertise in Mathematics. I am spectacularly passionate about teaching, and I find the position personally pleasing and beneficial to the students I teach. I am a great communicator and listener, and I can understand a student's needs. I love creating lesson plans, organizing workflow, and interacting with my students. Teaching is my passion, and creating a safe, friendly, and productive environment for my students to learn is a priority. I have taught mathematics for years. With my experience and skills, I would be a great asset to your team.
For much of my life, I have expressed an interest in sharing my knowledge with others the same way a teacher does for their students. I long to play a teacher/mentor figure in my career in which I transmit knowledge on the subjects I am most passionate about and therefore make an impact on my students and my community.Throughout my career, I have had much experience working with other students in group efforts as well as helping other peers to clarify certain concepts that I understood more easily. I have worked informally tutoring other students, which has helped me gain a better understanding about what students struggle with the most when trying to study Spanish.I graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2013 and from University of New Mexico in 2017 with my Bachelor's degree in History and Spanish, both with Honors. I take a particular interest in Latin American and U.S. Hispanic history as well as Spanish grammar and linguistics.I tutor Spanish at all levels and various areas of History. Spanish, however, is my favorite subject to tutor because I have luckily had the luxury of growing up bilingual and with the ability to grasp the mechanics of the Spanish language, such that I have developed the mind of a linguist, skills that I am more than happy to share with others. With respect to my tutoring philosophy, I firmly believe that the best teachers teach what they are most knowledgeable about. With that said, to be an effective tutor, it is crucial that I not only share my knowledge but continue to be invested in how the field continues to change as well as the demands on students in learning a language in our modern, globalized world. Furthermore, it is the job of the teacher/tutor to be a guiding a mentor that teaches their pupil the skills needed to teach themselves.Academia is an important part of my life. However, to pursue and continue working in one's niche, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I take much interest in pursuing a fruitful life of virtue and health. I take much interest in caring for the Environment as well as keeping a healthy, active lifestyle. I especially take interest in self-help and entrepreneurship to help me connect with my inner self and live a holistic, satisfying life while making a difference.

I am a graduate of both the University of New Mexico and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. I received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a focus in Language Arts from UNM and a Master of Arts in educational leadership from Golden Gate. I also have aTESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certificate and have been certified in the Science of Reading. Reading has always been a love of mine and I like sharing that with my students and helping them discover their own abilities in that area. While working with Varsity, I have had the pleasure of helping several elementary students with math, writing, and reading. When working with a student, my goal is to help them become more confident and successful in the areas that are challenging for them. I believe education is very important and I want to instill a love of learning in my students. I want to help them build a solid foundation while they are young so that they can be successful later in life.
My name is Will Dauk, I tutor in math (up to trig), history, writing, reading, and Test prep (ACT, PLAN, SAT, etc...) I have experience working with students since I started tutoring in my senior year of high school. I am currently a business student at the University of New Mexico. I am attentive to student's needs and want each and every one of them to succeed in school. I enjoy backpacking around the state and am a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino movies and the Marvel Franchise movies. I do a lot of reading in my spare time as well.
Though I recently took an early retirement from 18 years of teaching, it will never leave me. I enjoy teaching and tutoring one on one, seeing those "aha" moments and helping students succeed.Making connections through analogies, stories and real life application can increase all aspects of learning.Though my background is science (specifically chemistry), I also love helping in math, writing and study skills.
Having worked in a career where risks to personnel, the environment, and the public are at the forefront of expectations and performance, I know firsthand how important knowledge and experience are for success in life and the workplace. I would like to pass along some of my experience and knowledge to the next generation.
I love to learn about this amazing world in which we live and would be honored to support your learning journey. I strive to make material applicable to your life so that it is more interesting and fun to engage with. Hands-on learning and study skills are two of my most important tools. I love to see children of all ages explore the world with wonder and joy. My goal is to support them to feel safe and confident enough to let their whole light shine through. I look forward to meeting you!
I am a full time practicing chiropractor with my doctorate in chiropractic, master's in human strength and performance I have received my bachelors in physical anthropology and Biology and Anatomy. I have been tutoring officially for about 4 years.I currently tutor in subjects pertaining to anatomy and physiology, biology, NASM test prep, and exercise science related subjects.I believe in a positive based tutoring system that deals with active recall and spaced repetition to truly help the student remember and retain information rather than just memorizing it for a short amount of time. Helping guide students through questions and problems so they can learn how to approach and break down the questions is something I focus on with a-lot of my students as well as finding fun tricks to remember terms. Learning should be fun most of the time.I have worked as a personal trainer, yoga teacher, and physical therapy tech, and absolutely love helping others become better versions of themselves, which is why I enjoy tutoring so much!
I believe every student is capable of being successful in their math class. It just takes the right study habits and techniques.I'm here to help students accomplish their goals!
I'm unconventional, but that just makes my lessons and methods stick in people's heads. I've taught in the USA and Europe (at university level). I have seen a massive amount of students struggling post COVID or using AI as a crutch, or let down by half-baked IEPs. My method works since I apply a better standard than typical American schools. The average American speaks 0.8 languages; we're not even at 1 language, including English! I believe people are much smarter than what they're given credit for, whether they're kids, tweens, teens, or adults. I have ADHD, yet despite my diagnosis, I managed to be a top student throughout my life and enjoy my career. This was due to self-awareness, learning from others, and hyper-focusing on things that interested me. I'm a great teacher because for the most part, I taught myself much of the way, and I'm a tough client. If I can teach myself something, I can teach anyone anything within my fields of knowledge.
I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. I graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico with a concentration in materials processing and minors in Physics and Mathematics. I started my tutoring career as a supplemental instruction leader at the Santa Fe Community College where I taught students in a Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry course how to study effectively and develop test-taking strategies. Once that appointment ended I was hired as a tutor in subjects ranging from basic math to ordinary differential equations. I also tutored in the following subjects: chemistry, physics, engineering (including AutoCAD), and computer programing. I have put to use my academic knowledge in several internship opportunities allowing me to apply the things I have learned in a real-world setting. I worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory for 2.5 years studying water purification while pursuing my B.S. I was an Air Force Research Lab Fellow at Kirkland Air Force Base where I studied solid Oxide Fuel Cells for space vehicles. I was also funded by NSF to study bio-compatible smart materials in the Biomedical Engineering department at the University of New Mexico. All of these experiences have helped me hone the skills I learned in the classroom and have given me a wider perspective on science, math, and engineering. I am a published author in three different scientific journals. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion with students because I believe it is important to understand how the things they are learning are important in the real world.
Ater recently graduating with a B.S. in Astrophysics and minor in Mathematics, it seems fair to say that I've spent quite a lot of time learning. However, just like you, my journey of learning, is far from complete. Currently, I am continuing to build my knowledge through my pursuit of a master's degree in Medical Physics. Additionally, I work as a researcher in Human MRI studies in which I help to solve problems using computer science applications. With a genuine interest in these areas, I truly enjoy my role as a tutor and I'm dedicated to being versatile in order to effectively help in building a better understanding and positive learning experience for students. My passions for physics, mathematics and, of course, space have been the driving force in my academic and professional careers, but with tough subjects like these, I understand that the process of learning this material can be very challenging. Through my own experience, I have seen just how much goes into learning, like the amounts of time, dedication and practice, as well as the factors that can foster success such as having a good teacher. Additionally, through tutoring peers, I know that everyone learns differently and at varying paces. With this being said, sometimes, not only the subject matter, but all of the other many factors that affect your learning can seem overwhelming. However, I hope you can now breathe a sigh of relief because we are in this together! With any bumps you may experience on the road to your eventual mastery, I will be committed to assisting you through those times in ways that consider your unique needs and goals.I would be honored to accompany and support you through your intellectual pursuits and now that you know a little bit about me, I can't wait to learn more about you.
To help students gain a deeper insight and understanding into their particular subject matter by asking conceptual questions and practicing the material thoroughly.
I have a strong passion for science and want to help inspire more future scientists. I have had experience tutoring since high school where I have taught middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students. After I finished my high school classes in the morning I would take college courses at UNM in the afternoon. Doing this allowed me to graduate with a high school diploma, an Associate degree of General Science, and an Associate degree of Liberal Arts. I am still attending the University of New Mexico to get a Bachelor of Science in Physics. My hopes are that I can get into a good graduate program for Physics or Astrophysics so that I can become a professor. I tutor Physics, Chemistry, Geometry, Algebra, and Calculus. My favorite subjects to tutor are Physics, and Geometry. Physics and geometry are my favorite subjects to tutor since I am very passionate about physics and believe it can be taught at every level of education. Why geometry is a favorite might have seemed weird at first, but Einstein himself believed geometry is a branch of physics not math. This is why physics is for all ages. I focus on improving the students understanding of the subject. Then I focus on teaching them what critical, creative, and/or logical thinking they need to apply to the subject. For example I will start by ensuring the student has a vivid understanding of how gravity and acceleration are related before teaching them how a pendulum works or how to solve for the path of a rocket. I believe that by knowing how to critically think for a subject allows you to apply what you have learned for life, this also makes studying for finals much easier in the future. Outside of school I enjoy listening to music, working with computers in general and learning other languages. I enjoy improving who I am by meditating, reading, and exercising every day.
I earned my Masters of Teaching at the University of Illinois in the French Department. I received my Bachelor of Arts as a double major in French and Spanish with a focus on literature. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively to Europe and South America as well as visited Japan and for the last 23 years I have been teaching French and Spanish at an international school in Germany. While I have tutored a broad range of subjects primarily with younger students, I am most passionate about language learning. In my experience helping struggling students clearly understand grammatical concepts and find fun ways to memorize new vocabulary has always brought me great joy. I truly believe that through language we have a gateway to understanding other cultures and people. I believe that having access to communication is absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this love of language to my students. In my spare time, I love to scrapbook, cook and most of all travel.
I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a double major in Philosophy and Psychology in 2012. Education is vital to the future of our society. It's important to take into consideration that everyone learns differently. Rather than forcing the student to conform to the methodology that might not work for them, we can encourage learning by being open to everyone's unique and individual learning styles.
Nature is my biggest inspiration and astonishes me with its constantly changing state of being. I love how mathematics can quantify and explain nature, from the microscopic to the macroscopic world. It truly is the universal language of the universe. My appreciation for math and how it applies to nature is the reason I decided to pursue my education in Astrophysics and Mathematics. I love the sky and the Universe it reflects. Especially growing up in New Mexico, where our sky is one of the most beautiful in the world. It is what sparked my interest in Astronomy and Physics. Physics is just the mathematical breakdown of the laws of the universe, from subatomic particles to entire galaxies. If you can learn math, you can do Physics. However, I completely understand that math is very intimidating to people and is one of the hardest subjects for many to learn. When teaching math I like to help people breakdown their mental wall, I just cant do it or I am no good at math. You would be amazed how many students I have had who in the beginning believed math was there hardest subject, then, found out down the road, that they actually had a knack for it. I enjoy helping people learn mathematics and its applications. There is no better feeling then helping people become proficient in a math and physics. I believe if you set your mind to something and work at it, anything is possible, even learning math and physics.
I am a graduate of a top university in perceptual psychology, and currently work in the field. I have many years of experience tutoring, both in university settings as well as elementary through high-school education. I primarily tutor student in English, Writing, and Psychology, but I also have extensive experience in the Social Sciences. I have also gotten the opportunity to help students who have English as a second language, where I currently edit academic papers for those wishing to publish. I believe that incorporating real world examples is the best way to understand the material.
I have degrees in both computer science (B.S. from the University of Massachusetts) and physics (M.S. from Creighton University and Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico.) I have taught college level physics and astronomy for the past fifteen years as an adjunct lecturer, while at the same time participating in various research projects as a research scientist/software developer. My favorite programming language is Python. I enjoy tutoring students in a wide variety of scientific and technical disciplines, including: physics, astronomy, mathematics, and computer programming. As regards my teaching philosophy, I believe in building on what a person already knows, teaching general principles first and then focusing on how they apply in specific instances, and ensuring that once students grasp a particular concept, they also become confident in their ability to solve similar problems on their own.In my free time I enjoy running, practicing Yang Style T'ai Chi, reading, and spending time with my family.

I am a parent to a special needs child. I have found that I am a natural teacher. I believe I am a great teacher because my son has taught me to be one. I have learned to keep trying different stategies till the right one works. There is no cookie cutter student, teacher or strategy and no shame in trying over and over till you find the right one. I am patient, understanding and compassionate and a heck of a cheerleader. I know how to connect with people to allow them to feel comfort and relaxation to allow the learning process to happen and grow.

My fascination with human behavior, motivations behind human actions, and governmental actions has existed for most of my life, to determine of cause of this I would accredit it to the War on Drugs and my volunteer work with the general public. I am truly astonished by the level marginalization that many people in our country experience on a daily basis. It has been an emotive and enriching experience to study and engage with individuals outside of typical social norms. There have been a number of factors I have identified that lead to the realm of addiction; individual experience such as a breakdown in relationships, immigration, decline of mental or physical health, employment and more often a combination of all of the above: but also group experience which includes the feeling of acceptance, belonging, and a fear of being alone or rejectedwhich ends up happening due to the way in which we present addiction to the general public. I was adamant from then on to continue to try to make a difference in this world, to raiseawareness of, and support those who are marginalized, discriminated against, stigmatized and misunderstood. My Anthropology degree has developed my understanding of people culturally through ethnographic research and natural observation. Alongside my History degree, which allows me to understand the evolution of addiction and marginalizationas well as to fully grasp why it is that governments aim to systematically marginalize specific people. As a tutor, aide, and friend it is my mission to help individuals gain their own understandings of material and relate it to everyday life. By doing this I aim to help people think more critically of information being presented and therefore allow them to master material without even realizing that is what they are doing. Therefore, I am helping individuals not only learn material for the 'right now' but also gain the ability to apply that material in 'real-life' for the 'later'.

There is no doubt that knowledge and expertise are the basis of every successful country which only can be guaranteed by emphasizing on high-quality teaching for next generations. I remember since the young age, I have been enjoying and feeling honored to share any new knowledge with other students which are the motivations of my teaching desire at the present time. 14 years of experience in teaching from being a private tutor, lab instructor to instructor of record in different universities not only helped me to increase my expertise and experience in teaching but also guided me to pursue my long term job in teaching. My research experience has helped me a lot to gain more knowledge that can be useful in teaching and design new applied courses. In my philosophy, a responsible teacher is a person who cares about all students progress in the class which it means some factors are indispensable. Well organized and structured materials can be considered as the first necessary item. Regardless of the topic and the level, of course, the method of introducing new materials to students is very important. Having a trend and connection during teaching is really significant. A well-prepared speech should contain not only theories but also examples to motivate students about the course. The second parameter is class interaction which is the key to learning for class based teaching. How can we increase the class interaction of students in the class, especially for undergraduate courses? This is the question I have been asking myself a lot since many years ago. I reached to a method that can enhance the class interaction and involve them more in the class, and more importantly decrease their stress and encourage them more for learning. Taking a random quiz (extra credit exam) in the class of the material being taught in the same session is the method, worked very well for me. I used this method not only for mathematics courses but also as a lab instructor and the courses I taught as an instructor of record. It encourages students to take a look on the board and always listen to the materials to get an extra credit for their final score. The third factor is communication. Although class interaction and well-organized materials can be helpful for a better communication to transfer the knowledge and materials to students, a teacher needs to have effective communication skills to make more comfortable atmosphere for students to ask their questions without any hesitation even outside of the class which requires having proper office hours and also being generous in making time for students who are behind from the class. As I have been encouraged by my professors, who have taught me various useful skills in teaching, I do believe my great passion for teaching, several years of experience in teaching and industry; brilliant and high ranked academic background and good communication skills make me a successful lecturer.
