I am finishing my Bachelor of Arts in Special Education. I have worked in a Special Education classroom doing a teach while student teaching program. I am certified to teach a wide range of subjects, grades K-12, for struggling students and students hoping to boost their educational goals. I personally strive to push students through their Zones of Proximal Development, allowing them to breakthrough educational barriers and excel in their educational journey. Each student learns differently, and I am keen at figuring out what motivates and works for individual students.

Growing up I was always interested in learning. Over time I became better and better at Math and loved sharing with others what I had learned. I try my best to learn about the person I am teaching and adapt to tutoring them the best way I know possible.

I was a research biologist for 18 years. I was able to do research because I received a degree in Microbiology and Chemistry. My mathematical skills were sharpened during my career. During this period I was responsible for calculating molar concentrations for solution, medical dosing, determine number of cells in a microbe plate and complicated scientific formulas. I started tutoring math and science for a tutorial company and found that I loved it. I love seeing students make progress in our tutorial sessions. I was happy to know that I can help students to be more confident in themselves and their abilities.

Hey! I have been a student and so I know what it is like to struggle. While I did do very well in college, it did not come without times of frustration, wanting to throw my textbook out the window and wonder, "I wonder if maybe I should change my degree program." I tutored upper level mathematics (Math in the Liberal Arts, College Algebra on up) all four years of my college career. I enjoyed it a great deal. How I tutor is I try to see what the student knows and understands and start from there. I ask them questions and encourage them to try their best. I am good with analogies in order to explain more abstract ideas. I am lighthearted, because I realize the mathematics itself can be weighty enough. I enjoyed my job then, and I am confident that if you will come with the mindset to pursue understanding in what you are struggling with, we will both enjoy the pursuit. I am willing to tutor high school students. I know there are also some schools that start out 8th graders in Algebra 1, and I can help with that. I have grown very appreciative of elementary teachers. It is amazing how they can lay such foundational matters like arithmetic. I am not gifted in such areas. I have experience though in tutoring Algebra. I also taught a remedial course in Intermediate Algebra at a community college. In this spectrum, I have experienced and enjoyed helping people understand areas they struggle in. I have now been teaching in a high school setting since 2015, teaching from Algebra 1 all the way to Honors Trigonometry. Nevertheless, tutoring students who want help is still probably my favorite.

As a passionate educator with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, I have over 16 years of experience in tutoring and teaching a range of math subjects, starting from middle school math, high school, College Algebra, Calculus and Statistics. My approach centers on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring concepts and asking questions. I believe that every student has the potential to excel, and I strive to foster their confidence and problem-solving skills through tailored lessons that connect real-world applications to mathematical principles. Currently teaching in Oklahoma, I am dedicated to helping students not only achieve academic success but also develop a lasting appreciation for mathematics.

I am a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Health, Physical Education and Recreation. I received my Masters in Administration. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about math and science . In my experience helping struggling students is a calling and I have spent my 37 year career doing just that. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, camping, working in my flower bed and spending time with my grandchildren.

I am a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma States University with a B.A. In Business and UTSW Medical Center Paramedical School in addition to the Dallas Fire Rescue Department Fire training academy. I also served as an Adjunct Instructor at the Fire Training facility as well as a 5 year appointment as the Recruiting Coordinator. I am also an experienced substitute teacher in multiple area school districts. A dedicated former firefighter with a willingness to mentor any person in any desired field or career. My 37 years of professional work experience includes 3 in the banking and finance industry, 34 in Fire Service promoting to the rank of Fire Captain. During this time Along the way I've held professional licenses and certifications in Real Estate, Mortgage financing, Insurance Adjusting, Tax preparation, and Certified Personal Training. My primary motivation is to guide an individual based on my educational and life experiences.
