My dreams and aspirations are around science and medicine.Even though my career has taken various turns, my passion was in teaching. I completed my high school diploma and graduated from Palmetto Senior High. I got into Miami Dade College, where I enrolled in the science department and majored in biology.During my first semester at Miami Dade College, I won a full tennis scholarship, which helped with tuition and books. After graduating with an Associate of Arts degree, I won another tennis scholarship to St. Thomas University.There, I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. As an athlete, I traveled frequently. I was fortunate to experience many different cultures and meet people of various backgrounds. It has enabled me to be flexible and versatile to unexpected turns and twists in life. Maturity provided a stable ground that kept me in the direction I face today.During my college attendance, I volunteered for Jackson Memorial and Baptist Hospital of Miami. It was there that I devoted my time and energy to humanity. I developed a vast understanding of the world of medicine. I volunteered many hours in The Burn Center, Trauma Unit, Pediatric, ICU, ER, and Pathology.cI then got accepted to Barry University, where I received a Master's degree in biomedical sciences. The education and experience I have received have given me the confidence, knowledge, and well-rounded background in medicine and science.I then entered medical college (Xavier University School of Medicine), which provides the knowledge and art of healing the human body. It encompassed many healthcare practices developed to sustain and restore an individual's health.I finally graduated with my MD degree. I could not imagine not being a part of such an exciting, exhilarating, and rewarding field as science and medicine.

I am an international student from Barcelona, Spain. I am 20 years old, and I am studying at St. Thomas University in Miami, FL. I am studying Biology and I have always been really interested in science and the anatomy of the body. I am currently the RA of a dorm at my University which involves a lot of self-commitment and responsibility. I am also on the tennis team with a scholarship since I have been competing all my life.I have experience tutoring at my current University, at the library, and teaching students classes such as algebra, statistics, biology, and Spanish. I am a graduate student at St. Thomas University studying Criminal Justice. I previously graduated with my Bachelor's degree in May 2017. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a certification in Homeland Security. I have a lot of experience working with students both at Carol City Middle School mentoring them and giving them academic advice to succeed as well as coaching volleyball at Florida Suns Volleyball Academy. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English and Writing. I think it is very powerful to have a well-written essay. I am a firm proponent of academic success. I completed my undergraduate degree in 3 years and I would love to help students on a path of their own. In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, exercising, watching Netflix, and playing with animals! I have taught most elementary grade levels: Pre-K 2, Kindergarten, Second Grade, and Fourth Grade. I have tutored students in third and fifth to prepare them for their state assessments. My name is Shoshanna. I have been teaching for about 6 years with a variety of ages. I have my masters in ese k-12th grade.

I graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor's degree in Economics and received my teaching certification from Texas A & M. I taught all subjects in an elementary setting for 12 years before transferring to teach in a middle school. I taught 6th grade Gifted and Talented and 7th grade on-level math. To put it simply I love teaching math. As a middle school teacher, I found myself in a difficult position when students would come to me to discuss their personal problems. I decided I was ill-equipped to handle some of their issues without the education and background experience. I decided to seek a master's degree in school counseling. I have been a counselor (specializing in adolescence) for the last six years. I miss teaching. I miss interacting with the students. I miss seeing the expressions change on their faces when they finally understand a difficult concept. I also miss the challenge of successfully teaching students that are not mathematically inclined. I believe every student can be successful in math with a teacher who understands their struggle.

My goal as a tutor is to help students build confidence in discomfort as learners by creating a safe space. My goal is to provide tools that will result in students becoming problem solvers. To develop tools that will benefit them in any career.
