I am a certified teacher who specializes in general, special and gifted education. I have an abundant background in and outside of the classroom working with students of all ages and ability levels. Over the years I have been a substitute and math/reading elementary school teacher, homeschool/at home instructor, private tutor, camp counselor and director.

I am familiar with Common Core Standards and Assessments, the English Language Arts Exam, and the apprehension that children may feel when facing these tests. Although reading and writing is my specialty, I have a knack at simplifying the most complicated terms that may arise in a variety of subjects. I have tutored both children and adults which has been (and continues to be) a wonderfully challenging experience.

I am an educator and an author, much of my time is spent reading and writing. However, I do enjoy making jewelry, podcasting, baking and traveling. I love mythology an I am also a huge Marvel fan!

I'm on the same "page" as my students, I make it my priority to always explain as thoroughly as possible, what practical benefits are, of learning the lesson that I'm teaching. I am most passionate about Social Studies and English Language Arts. I hope to inspire a new generation of learners and to impart enthusiasm and curiosity to my students through collaboration and meaningful engagement. I believe that every child is entitled to academic success. And most of all, I believe that learning can be, and should be, fun for all learners.

I am completing an M.A. in The Study of the Americas from The City College of New York. I'm passionate about the importance of the liberal arts in education and my tutoring strengths include all areas of English and Spanish, as well as US and Latin American history. I have more than 10 years of teaching experience, including 3 in Mexico, and there's nothing else I'd rather be doing. I currently teach ESOL as an adjunct at Westchester Community College and Borough of Manhattan Community College.
