About Me

My educational journey includes graduate degrees from Salem State University (ME.d in Education with a concentration in Library Media Studies); Worcester State University (MA in English); University of Rhode Island (MA in English w/ a focus in Creative Writing, specifically Creative Nonfiction). Currently, I am a dual genre (poetry and creative nonfiction) MFA candidate at New England College. I teach in the English Department at Worcester State University, and the Writing and School of Professional Studies at Clark University. Besides teaching, I am also a creative writer. My work has appeared in many journals including the Bennington Review, 580 Split, Blueline, The Worcester Review, Carolina Quarterly and others. My teaching style is student-centered and project based. I like to get to know my students and help them reach a level of self confidence in their academic and creative writing. I also enjoy helping students learn how to organize and prioritize their work, and develop study skills to lead them on a path to success. I have taught in public education at the K-12 and undergraduate level. When I am not teaching, reading and writing, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.
