About Me

I am an avowed science nerd and Star Trek fanatic who loves helping students learn science! Outside of teaching, I love to read, grow all kinds of vegetables and fruits in my garden, and take care of my chickens, dogs, ducks, and goats. I love the outdoors, and enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, and stargazing. I have been teaching science for over 20 years, from 5th grade to college students. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and a Master's of Science degree in Nutrition. I am available to tutor Nutrition, Life Science, High School Biology, AP Biology, and College Biology. I believe that ALL students can learn....it is up to me, as the teacher, to find out how you learn best and then I meet you where you are. I will use a variety of methods to help you learn the concepts with which you are struggling, including computer simulations, videos, discussions, games, models, and hands-on activities where possible. My goal is to build a relationship with you and use YOUR strengths and likes to help you succeed in learning science.
