About Me

I have a Master of Arts in Peace Education from the United Nations Mandated University for Peace (UPEACE) in Costa Rica and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Marymount Manhattan College. During my time at the University for Peace, I deepened my understanding of peace theory and developed the necessary skills for being an active listener and an agent of change towards building a culture of peace, based on diversity and inclusion. Upon graduation from UPEACE, I learned Spanish, taught English to Spanish speakers, traveled and worked throughout the region and worked at an international NGO before returning back to my home in NYC seven years later. Throughout my professional career, I have found that thanks to my relevant skill set and life-long love for youth and their development, I am able to equip my students with the tools they need to succeed inside the classroom and beyond. I am compassionate, patient, have excellent active listening skills and a systems thinker.
