About Me

I am a professor of philosophy with over ten years teaching experience both in the U.S. and internationally. Currently I teach at a large university in Turkey. Prior to this I taught at a college in Slovakia as well as at a university in Chicago, IL, USA.I earned my Ph.D. in Philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago, my M.A. at The New School in New York City, and my B.A. with a double major in English and Philosophy at Trinity College in Hartford, CT.I am passionate about teaching and discussing philosophy and literature. I also love helping students (and even friends and family sometimes!) craft their arguments and writing in the ways they want. I believe everyone has the ability to become an excellent writer and thinker. Helping people learn how to do that is one of the joys of teaching for me, in part because I always learn something myself. Teaching is, I believe, helping people learn how to teach themselves. Outside of academia, I enjoy watching TV, movies, and sports, especially football, baseball, and soccer. I also like playing soccer and spinning as well as reading fiction, particularly detective novels.
