I have tutored middle school and high school aged students in math and science for over two years. Coming from such a technical background, I know that many students find these subjects intimidating, but I always personalize my approach so that they won't be quite so boring and formal. Math and science are less scary, and more fun, when we can relate them back to real world examples. I'm especially passionate about tutoring math subjects because I used to hate math, but then someone took the time to make sure I really understood everything, and it quickly became my favorite subject. I also focus on concepts and why we solve questions in a specific way, rather than memorizing the steps for a specific type of question. I have found that having a solid understanding of the concepts behind the question gives the student more confidence to solve a wide variety of problems. In my free time, if I'm not cooking, then I'm watching movies or catching up on the latest Netflix series.
