I am currently a senior at Michigan State University majoring in Child Development. I am passionate about working with both children and adults and have been doing so for about eight years, working with children of various age groups. I enjoy both expanding and sharing my knowledge with others, a factor that was very important in helping me to decide to tutor. Subjects that I tutor include Pre-Algebra, Elementary School Math and Reading, Middle School Reading and Writing and English as a Second Language. I am passionate about all of these subjects, although Pre-Algebra and Elementary School Math are my favorite to teach. My teaching philosophy include the beliefs that students should be allowed to learn at their own pace and in the ways that allow them to be confident and motivated in what they are learning. Additionally, engaging materials should be provided to increase understanding of the content that is being taught, and having discussions is a way to assess what the student has learned. My hobbies include traveling and trying new foods, painting and making various crafts, calligraphy, cooking and watching sports.
