I received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas in Interdisciplinary and soon followed that with a Masters degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in Curriculum and Instruction. I currently teach prekindergarten for the Arlington ISD however, prior to my prekindergarten position I was an English as a second language intervention teacher for Advantage Academy in Grand Prairie, assisting students from kindergarten through middle school. I have also worked with middle school students as an English as a second language education aide. As and ESL interventionist and ESL education aide, I was able to assist students with understanding instruction in their classrooms as well as provide strategies for teachers for ESL instruction. Even the majority of my prekindergarten students are ESL students and for that reason, I continually use music, songs, and visuals to assist in my instruction as well as fun games to help with learning. I love to teach reading and writing as these are subjects areas necessary for all other subject areas but I have also developed a love of math. I have a son that is ADHD and never felt he got the quality of education he should have and that is one reason I went back to school to become a teacher. I am passionate about doing as much as possible for all of my students, to help them achieve academic success.
