About Me
A little about myself: I'm a playwright living in Brooklyn, sticking to tutoring and other flexible work because it gives me the time and space need to work on my writing. I've been tutoring here ever since I came to college, and generally stick to the humanities: English, history, literature, sociology, anthropology, and other analytical subjects. However, I'm also comfortable tutoring biology, since it's been a passion of mine since high school! I work with all ages, from elementary school to underclassmen in college, and my biggest priority is the student. Tutoring is far and away my favorite thing to do as a freelancer. Teaching - discussions, exercises, personal discoveries, and interesting thoughts - all of it is exciting to me, and gives me a mental boost that actually helps my writing! I find an easy rhythm in organizing lesson efficiently, and I pride myself on my ability to keep track of what's asked of me and how I can best put my efforts to use helping my students. I also love forming long-term relationships - I've been tutoring one family for more than 6 years, which is exactly how long I've been in New York! Outside of tutoring, I do a lot of yoga, work in theatre, hang out with my cat, and drink a ton of green tea! I also love to talk long, crazy nature walks, and I love hanging out in museums and parks and other hubs of activity in New York City. Always looking for the next fun thing!
