I believe that an excellent tutor must have a desire to assist students in the learning process, and this is one quality which I feel I definitely possess. I hold a BA in psychology, and an MA in English and Creative Writing. I have previously worked as a tutor with primarily jr. high and high school students. This was predominantly homework support, but also included review of assignments for English and literature classes. Additionally, I homeschooled my own son through jr. high and high school. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crocheting and knitting items for gifts and charities, hiking, and tennis. My tutoring philosophy is all about meeting students where they are. I feel it is important for students to understand their personal learning style (verbal, auditory, kinesthetic), as this will enable them to study the material in the way that best allows them to learn, understand, and retain the material.
