Hello I am Alex, and I am looking forward to tutoring you. I am currently in my 6th year teaching and looking to use some of the strategies that I use in the classroom on some of my tutees. I try to get students to have a mathematical mindset. With a mathematical mindset, students are independent learners who strive to get answers on their own. They work hard and think through different patterns to solve problems. Many students think that they are either a math person or not but that's not the case! I want to change how students think of mathematics! Over the years, I have tutored a variety of different students. I have helped students with A's maintain those A's. I have tutored students who were failing classes to a passing grade( F to a B- by the end of the year). I really try to analyze where students are lacking in their mathematical knowledge, then build on it.
