About Me

I am not meeting my objectives, or if a lesson or activity does not seem to be working, I try something different. While it is rewarding to see student progress, to see engagement, self-realization, broadening, and student enjoyment of the course, teaching is also rewarding to me. This is one of the most important parts of teaching, for if the teacher is not enjoying the course, the students are not likely to enjoy it, either. Finally, for all that I hope my students take away from my courses, I always take away something, too. Even if this goal is a bit selfish, learning from my students is one of the best things about teaching, and I most certainly consider this a vital part of my teaching philosophy.
