I am a junior in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Houston. My experience as an engineering student makes me a great teacher in mathematics. I enjoy helping others learn and have a lot of experience teaching. I have tutored before and have worked with children through volunteering at my local school for the ESL program. I know how to simplify difficult concepts in order to guide the student to achieve great understanding and success.

I am all about understanding concepts thoroughly rather than just learning how to solve a problem and moving on. Once the student learns how to apply the concepts he/she learned, they will be able to complete any problem, regardless of how difficult it is. How can you help a student become an independent learner? By teaching my students important self-study tactics and skills, I will help them become a successful independent learner. When studying, it is all about the quality of learning, not the quantity of time being spent. How would you help a student stay motivated?
