In May, I will be graduating with a master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Kent State University. At the start of my degree, I was awarded a graduate assistantship, which granted me the opportunity to teach twelve intensive ESL courses over a two-year span. I currently serve as an ELL tutor at a local Ohio school district. Additionally, I have worked at a New York City-based international English camp for their past five programs. I held the positions of ESL Instructor and Program Coordinator. My passion for teaching English and cultural exchange eventually led me to Russia. While there, I taught English to kindergarteners and adolescents. Furthermore, I have worked with English language learners from a myriad of countries, including Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil, Russia, and Mexico. Therefore, I understand and appreciate the importance of being culturally sensitive to a student's heritage.
