About Me

Joshua Shaffer is a film scoring student and musician at Berklee College of Music in Boston who has a passion for sharing his knowledge while learning alongside his students. His areas of expertise include mathematics, SAT/ACT/AP test prep, English and history. In addition to tutoring, he spends his time cycling, skiing and playing FIFA. He is also a big cinema buff and has been known to quote Pulp Fiction profusely. As a tutor, Josh brings a commitment to academic excellence and an optimistic approach to learning. He emphasizes setting achievable goals with students and keeping both parties motivated, as well as encouraging students throughout the learning process by always keeping the information relevant. He believes that the path to understanding comes from not just knowing the answer, but also knowing why the answer is correct and why it matters in the broader scope of the subject.
