In the 5th grade, I had a teacher who changed my life and fostered my love of learning, and I knew from that moment forward that I wanted to have that same impact on students. My favorite teaching experiences have been working one-on-one with students who need extra help to master a particular skill. There is no greater joy than when a struggling student has that aha moment. The light bulb goes on and he finally understands that which has eluded him until that point. I enjoy teaching a variety of subjects, although I particularly enjoy working with students in math and reading. I believe that all students are capable of learning and deserve a good education. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, watching hockey and spending time with my family.
