I hail from the small town of Lambertville, NJ, and have a BA in Political Science from Rutgers University and a BA in Diplomacy & International Relations from Seton Hall University. I believe the quest for knowledge and understanding is paramount to living a better life. Based on my teaching experiences, I have developed a teaching philosophy that gives the students the room they need to create and take ownership of their studies. My goal is to foster independence in every student and allow these students to thrive individually and when working with others in group settings. My methods have been developed through my own experiences in the classroom and through observation of effective educators. I believe that a strong focus should be placed on reading comprehension and comparative analysis, for I firmly believe that students will understand the subject matter better and have a stronger sense for context of what they are studying if it is relayed to them in the proper framework. I want students to be able to explain the events instead of merely reading and repeating what is in their textbooks. I would describe my teaching style as very communicative, calm, and friendly, all while achieving great results from my students.
