About Me

I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado in 2010 with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Economics. I gained most of my tutoring experience while living in East Africa over the last five years helping to start a school. I worked individually with both students and teachers helping mostly with reading and writing but also with teaching theories of education and learning. I am very excited to bring that experience back to here! I am currently studying for my Masters in Public Administration at Columbia University, so I get to be a part of the learning process again as well not just the teacher! I am especially passionate about reading, writing, and history, and I because I believe those subjects lay a critical foundation for all students no matter what they decide to study in college or what career path they decide to pursue. I love reading everything from classical literature, to historical biographies economic textbooks, so I am a bit of a nerd. I also grew up in Colorado, so I love the outdoors and doing things like rock climbing, hiking, and skiing. Probably more than anything though, I am passionate about Africa and issues of global poverty which is why I am going back to school at Columbia.
