I taught one year of 6th grade math and one year of 7th grade math, and the best parts about my job were building relationships with my students and watching their growth from the beginning to the end of the school year. I am back in school now at the University of Houston, but I want to be able to impact students' lives even if I cannot be a full-time teacher while I am taking classes. With my teaching experience and background in human development and family sciences, I hope to be a successful tutor and to strengthen the understanding of the students I work with, not only about their content knowledge, but also about themselves and their value as a student.
