About Me

Working as a theatre director, I have a passion for all of the arts and enjoy finding ways to connect them to other aspects of education and tutoring. I play cello and regularly attend all types of performances from contemporary dance to traditional opera. My experience in the arts has taught me to be a more critical observer - I see where students struggle with problems and am able to focus my attention on these areas. I particularly love tutoring in writing and critical reading focusing on deeper textual analysis and comprehension. I am also able to encourage a very systematic and manageable approach to mathematics based on logically deconstructing every problem. I always try to draw on students' passions which leads to greater focus and dedication to learning. At Vassar College, I studied Theatre and Art History developing a rigorous work ethic and attention to detail that can be applied to every aspect of education. I believe tutoring, like all types of learning, is a medium for growth and self-improvement which leads to a boost in confidence.
