About Me

As an educator, I have nearly three years of classroom experience working with students grades K-12. A Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Penn State, a Master of Science in Education from Duquesne University, and dual certifications in Secondary English and Social Studies Education have provided me with the requisite skills to assist students as they grow as academics, researchers, and writers. I tutor in the areas of history, writing, grammar, and editing, including at the collegiate level. I have worked with students of all ability levels, including those with specific learning needs and gifted learners. My philosophy on education and tutoring is student-centered; my goal is to support students in not only learning and understanding, but in developing work ethic, studying and note-taking skills, and self-advocacy. I have a passion for history; throughout my secondary and undergraduate studies, I loved to learn about other cultures, past events, and looking at patterns and continuity in history over time. I also enjoy working within the field of English and communications; strong reading, writing, and editing skills are imperative to be successful in life! Outside of the classroom, hobbies include reading, running, cooking, baking, and yoga. I enjoy being physically active and spending time outside. I am a fervent Penn State fan and enjoy visiting my alma mater as often as possible!
