I have taken additional graduate level accounting courses and successfully completed 5 courses towards my teaching certificate at Felician. I have tutored English for Literacy Volunteers, trained bookkeeper and salespeople on the job. I have done some substitute teaching and have taught public speaking and leadership to the Jaycees. Currently I am tutoring ESL, reading and accounting. My favorite of these subjects is English and then reading. I emphasize how one has to have the vocabulary and how to use it. When someone doesn't understand me it is usually because I have not explained myself or because I failed to observe that the other person didn't register my message. I'll be there for you. We'll work together according to your learning style. I want you to feel comfortable and enjoy our sessions. Most of all I want you to succeed in your studies and in life. By the way, I am not overly serious and like to create a relaxed but effective atmosphere. A few laughs are helpful. I've tutored and trained individuals from ten to fifty years of age, based on a broad philosophic focus. Knowledge is the key to financial success and personal achievement in life. I, as the educator, must relate the subject to the widest possible context, making the subject more meaningful and useful. I must be patient and supportive. I must encourage and inspire. I must turn ambivalence and tolerance for learning into appreciation. And where there is an absolute dislike for a subject I must strive for appreciation or at least tolerance for it. In short, I endeavor to do more than just tutor subject knowledge. My reward is always a great sense of satisfaction.
