About Me
I received a degree in Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Before that, I studied political science and pre-law at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia and spent a year studying Chinese language and history at Peking University in Beijing, China. My focus and greatest personal interest is in Social Studies. Whether it's history, government, or economics, I'm fascinated by how societies function, and I love to help people explore these topics. I believe the most important part of tutoring is helping a student overcome their fear of being wrong. Oftentimes the intense social pressures of the classroom make it difficult to speak up for fear of being wrong, but even the greatest minds among us don't solve every question immediately. My strength is in helping students work through inevitable and often healthy mistakes without becoming discouraged. My intention is to become a full time teacher in the future. In my free time, I'm an avid basketball fan and player, and I can often be found enjoying a good book.
