I am a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I tutor many STEM subjects, SAT/ACT prep, and AP/IB classes! In the years past, I've mentored two robotics teams and I have experience tutoring at my school and in my neighborhood. I'm a gifted writer and have taken coursework spanning marketing, sociology, anthropology, communications, history, and literature. I discovered that I loved tutoring when I began helping friends review for tests in history and proofreading essays and papers. Tutoring is fun for me because I love to see when someone can engage a new idea and make connections with broader psychological, historical, and political themes, all while gaining an appreciation for a new subject.

I am hoping to put forth my knowledge and academic expertise in the variety of areas I am comfortable to do so, but with particular focus on one area that remains a crucial point upon which our education system rest: standardized testing. I am a recent veteran of the rather arduous journey most students take through myriad tests, upon which their success and failure is determined. I have intimate experience and knowledge with the AP, IB, SAT, and GRE tests, and have spent time tutoring in the area of the SAT, as well as staying abreast of changes in testing protocol and procedure for those tests which I listed above, prior to my time here.

I am currently studying for the GRE. I've served as a T.A. for a beginner's literature class in the past year, and was a camp counselor at Girls Inc., a stem-focused summer and after school camp for girls K-8. My primary fields are English Literature, Comparative Literature, and History. I have presented at conferences, most recently at Simon Fraser as a member of a panel for their graduate English program. I wrote a thesis last year, passed my baccalaureate exam, and I'm pursuing publication for the project. I am currently working as a freelance writer, with an article due for publication in The New Inquiry next month.
