I received my Bachelor's of Science in Business and Financial Management from Brooklyn College.My passion for tutoring started in high school when I began tutoring as a requirement of the National Honor Society. I continued tutoring privately when I entered college mainly for elementary aged students. Currently, I work with an after school program where I work with large groups of students with ages ranging from 4-12 years old.I love being able to help someone who is struggling to grasp a concept. This is something I believe I excel at, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to do so with Varsity Tutors!

I have tutored students for several years, starting when I was in high school. I worked at Kumon, a tutoring center and worked with children aged 3-16. I have also worked as a private tutor and helped children in elementary school and high school. I have helped children who are struggling in school and have also helped children get ahead. I have also provided students with SAT and ACT Prep and have seen successful results.Through my experiences tutoring, I have learned different ways of teaching my students. I can keep them engaged and teach them different study skills that help them succeed in their educational environments. I try to help my students not only with their schoolwork, but also with their study skills and time management skills. I am an incoming college sophomoore studying Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I was one of the top scholars at Carmel High School in Indiana and have various experiences teaching and tutoring through leading the Carmel High School Science Olympiad team to Nationals for two years in a row. Many of my friends consistently come to me for help with various subjects because of my willingness to help and teach in a way that makes sense to everyone. My specialities are physics, chemistry, math, and economics but I am comfortable tutoring any STEM subject, the SAT, and the ACT. Some of my accomplishments include a perfect 36 ACT score, 800 on the Physics, Math Level 2, and Chemistry SAT subject tests, and a 5 on all the physics, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Macroeconomics, Computer Science, etc. AP exams. When teaching, I focus on making sure that not only do students understand different concepts, but also that students understand why and practical applications of the different concepts. As a recent high school graduate, I have a deep understanding of how high-schoolers think, what is covered in various courses now, and can connect with my students a lot more. Additionally, as an undergraduate teaching assistant at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, I taught weekly recitation sections of 30 students and held weekly office hours. Therefore, I have lots of experience teaching and working with students.

I recently graduated with a master's degree in Urban Education Policy from Brown University after studying public policy as an undergraduate at Duke University. I hope to pursue a career in education policy in the future, but at present I want to be the best tutor that I can be. Given my passionate about education policy, I understand the important role that standardized tests play in allowing students to maximize their own educational potential. My goal as a tutor is to help each student that I work with to perform to the best of their abilities on the standardized test that they are preparing to take. I hope that I can play a part in helping my students to attend the higher education institution of their dreams, and I will work as hard as I need to in order to achieve this. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati. I plan on attending law school in the near future, but I have always enjoyed teaching. I started tutoring during my junior year of high school, finding that I had an aptitude for analogies that helped students learn the material. I tutor a large variety of subjects, including LSAT, SAT, and ACT. I also tutor various academic subjects, primarily in the fields of math and science. My favorite subject to tutor is Chemistry, followed closely by Physics. I feel that anyone can learn anything as long as it is explained in a way that is conducive to them, and I aim to achieve that in my teaching. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy ultimate frisbee, television, reading, and games of all sorts.

I was a student of SUNY Albany’s Collegiate Science Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) which provides academic support and research opportunities for underrepresented students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. As part of CSTEP, I tutored General Biology I/II to Biology and Human Biology majors as well as mentored and advised students with their science curriculum and class schedules. I am passionate about medicine and will be applying to Physician Assistant School in the near future. I am also passionate about educational equity and am currently volunteering with GO Project providing academic and emotional support to elementary school students at risk of failing. I believe in each and every one of the students I tutor and strive to help them unleash their academic potential and gain confidence in their ability to comprehend a material.
