I have a passion for working with and helping students be successful. I have spent the last 11 years working with mostly middle school students, teaching Math. I earned my Bachelors degree from Illinois State University, my Masters degree from Concordia University, and I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. I tutor Math for many different ages. My goal is to help make math easier for students and help them learn to persevere and problems solve when they come across difficult problems. I always try to relate the math to something that my students are interested in to help make the concept as easy as possible.

I recently graduated with a MAT in Childhood Education 1-6 from Queens College, so I prefer to work with Elementary students. I took the IB Biology HL, IB Spanish HL, IB English HL, and IB History HL final exams. I enjoy history and English. I am very used to editing papers for ideas as well as grammar and organization. In my free time I hike, read, and ride horses.

I have created content for national institutions and organizations such as Mobilize Art and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), as well as for a variety of local clients. In addition, I have also contributed over twenty articles to Louisville.com.I received my BFA in Visual Communications from Ball State University, where I also acquired a strong set of photography and image editing skills. During my time at the University of St. Thomas, I tutored English, French, and general writing for the university's tutoring center. During my time at the tutoring center, I worked with students from various backgrounds including undergraduate, graduate, ESL, and continuing education. Additionally, I worked for several summers with the university's summer institute preparing incoming college freshman for a writing-intensive and rigorous liberal arts education. Although, I have primarily tutored college-aged students, I have experience working with younger students through non-tutoring volunteer work and babysitting.I am available to tutor reading and writing for all ages and French 1 and 2. My favorite subjects to tutor, however, are writing and literature. I am a graduate of North Carolina Central University where I received my Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in Biology with minors in Jazz studies and Philosophy. I have been tutoring students in an unofficial capacity since high school. When I became an undergraduate I wanted to continue to help students, so I started a tutoring program for underclassmen who were struggling in their science courses. Outside of this, I volunteered my time to help students who were struggling in the upper level courses I was taking. I love science and medicine and I love teaching students to understand and appreciate how cool science can be. I believe that once you understand the concepts and how they fit into the larger framework, it makes memorizing a lot easier and it gives you the command of the material that enables you to do well on any exam. When I am not doing research or thinking about the brain, I love to play jazz, soul, and RandB in the New England area. I also play tennis and soccer on a regular basis.

Teaching creative ways to write, and hearing what my students create, is so very rewarding.
